Sell Out

Yes friends, I am indeed a sell out. A fresh whore wandering the cyber streets of the capitalist online market. I've dolled myself up in stilettos and the content-savy Google ads, now seen marring my blog. Despise me not though friends, and know that I do not do this out of greed; but rather out of necessity. I am completely broke. So please excuse the ads, and if you would be so kind; click on them (that's the only way that I get paid).

Adventuring and Self-Flagellation at Delta Quarry

Sorry for not being more diligent about posting; I've been busy having lots of adventures lately! I will try to post about them respectively, starting with the most recent first. Yesterday, I went with Gimp and Old Man up to Whiteford, a small town in Harford County, MD. Once a favourite swimming-hole spot of Old Man's, he hadn't been up there in at least ten years; it was a little hard to find the spot. According to Old Man, there are several disused quarries up there (at least 6), the most elusive of these having an 80 foot cliff jump and boasting the nickname "Balls" (since you need 'em to jump off of it). Sadly, we couldn't find Balls with both hands and a map.

More after the jump.

Busted!

For years, I have had a spot that I like to go to for midnight dips of the skinny variety, up at Loch Raven Reservoir. Parking along the main drag of Dulaney Valley Road, the spot was a short blaze through the woods. It was a small cove, completely surrounded by the woods; blocking the view from the trails and the road. It really is a lovely spot; particularly when the Moon is cooperating and rises out over the water.

Two nights ago, Trillian and I drove up to Loch Raven around midnight for a little late night stroll/dip. We parked, and as soon as we both got out of the car, another vehicle approached. Not just an ordinary vehicle though; a police car! Two officers got out and told me to put my hands on the car (in all of my run-ins with the police, that was a first). I told them right off the bat that I had a knife on my belt, which they appreciated. They were actually both pretty cool guys; they told us as long as we didn't have any warrants out, that they would let us go. I expressed my shock to them, since I had been coming there for years without incident. One of the officers informed me that they only recently started enforcing the after-dark no trespassing law. Trillian was a bit shook up, but I actually thought it was one of the more pleasant experiences that I've had with the police. But alas! No more skinny dipping at Loch Raven. Be wary fellow adventurers, and take heed!

Great Falls, MD

Awesome day yesterday. Went to the Great Falls part of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park with Trillian; specifically to brave the dreaded Billy Goat Trail (it actually has a Wiki!). I'm getting ahead of myself though, but I can't help it! This is definitely my new favourite trail, and I am ever so excited to share it with you. Directions, maps, and pictures after the jump.
